John Brown was a hero in my opinion. One reason was that he fought for the freedom of slaves. Another reason is that he would not stop even to his death to do what was right. He also had enough courage to defie the government. In my opinion John Brown was a hero.

John Brown was a crazy dude who looked like Frankenstine. I read all this stuff about him and that's still all I know. I don't understand all those big history words. If I interpreted it right it said John Brown murdered alot of innoccent bystanders for no apparent reason. I also take that he was mentaly ill (a nutcase). INSANE!!!!! Some people call him a mytar. I call him a crazy old dude who should of been in the loony bin with all the other whack jobs! Also he is a big meany!

I believe that John Brown was both a hero, and a criminal. He was a hero to the people who followed him, and to those who thought killing was the only way. Yet, he was a criminal to the law. Killing is illegal and also anti-slavery in a slavery state is also illegal. He defied the government but yet he did it for his case and what he believed in. I personally think John Brown was a criminal hero. IF PEOPLE DON'T STAND FOR ANYTHING, THEY WILL FALL FOR ANYTHING!!!

i think john brown is consider a hero because he is spreding the right of citizens not to have slavery. People would not listen to him if he just sent flyers or letters out around towns. So he started violence to prove that slavery is bad. He hurt citizens to prove that slavery is bad because that is what they are doing to the slaves is killing them slowly and it is hurting the country because now it is split apart between north and south. He is trying to bring the country back together to make the country once more the UNITED states. yea homies thats why i think john brown is a hero. DDDDDDDDDDDUUUUUUUUUUUUDDDDDDDDDDDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE gimme a doughnut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or at least some biscuits with butter or something...

In my opinion, John Brown was a criminal. Why I believe this is was because he killed people because he thought it was the right thing to do. He tried to solve problems with guns and weapons. He also thought God told him to do this, which wouldnt be true because he wouldnt want that.

i think that he is a hero for the north and a criminal for the south.
the reason he is a hero for the north is becouse he got armory for the north and helped them try to free slavery. for the south he was a criminal because he brock into an armory and stole weapons to stop slavery even though it is allowed in the south. so altogether i think he was both a hero for the north and a criminal for the south. robert wellman pd4

John Brown was a criminal. First, he reacted with violence instead of diplomacy. Second, he attacked an innocent town and its civilians and others while seizing the town's armory. Third, he still believed what he did was right even when he was captured. He had no reason to immediately react with violence against innocent civilians so he could spark a slave uprising. This is why John Brown is a criminal.

John Brown is a criminal. He slaughtered many people for no reason. Many people beleive that he was a hero, but I do not. Two reasons that he was a criminal are that he took an armory, and he killed mercilecly. His porpose was good, but he wnet about doing what he needed to, in the wrong way. He could have bought all of the wepons, but instead he just decided to steal them. He attempted to take over an armory, which is a federal crime, and he deserved the fate that he received.
He also killed anyone who got in his way. He killed hundreds of people. Thtese are good reasons that John Brown is a criminal.

I think he was a hero. He tried to end slavery. He killed many people but he was saving lives from the people who would kill the slaves. I dont care if he killed many people he saved peoples lives in the process.

I belive that Jhon Brown a crimianl. I say so because he killed many innocent people who didn't belive in his opinion.
There are many reasons why I say he is a criminal is because he killed many people, he could have find a less violent way to solve the situation.

I think that he was a hero. He may have caused many people to die, but he did it to do what he believed was right. He killed these people to prove he was not afraid to do whatever it took to stop slavery. He was very stratigic in what he did. He tried to take out and arsenal with just 18 people, and obviously failed. Even Though he failed, it showed his great determination to do what he thought was right. Also, he was a leader in one of the causes of the civil war, which abolished slavery as he wanted. So even though he was dead, he got what he wanted by doing the right thing which makes him a hero in my opinion.

To begin with, John Browns actions were very importent. I defend his actions. He was simply trying to do the right thing. Therefore, i agree with his actions at Harpers Ferry. I think there could have beeen a less violent way to achive his goals but if he would have went with the less violent way he may not have succeded in achiving his goal. What matters is that he did succed!

I think John Brown was a criminal. He killed or his actions killed many American citizens and he had no common since. He thought everything he did was corrct and he had a huge ego. I dont not thing he is a hero and I have no idea why people like him.

John Brown's actions were bad. He tryed to steal. He commited treason, murder, and broke the law. Even though he tryed to help the slaves which was a good thing he did it in the worst way possible. He also got caught. He could of helped the slaves in a less violent way ,but choose to take a violent path. I disagree with his actions ,but agree with his point on helping the slaves.

John Brown is a criminal.First him and his army of the United States took possession of the United States Armory and Arsenal at Harpers Ferry.Sencond he took over so he could armmed slaves. The last reason is he think he did the right thing by killing alot of innocent people at Harpers Ferry. Jonh Brown is one of America's criminal

I Belive John Brown was a criminal. One reason why he's a criminal is because him and his "Provisional Army of the United States" took possession of the United States Armory and Arsenal at Harpers Ferry. Also, he took over so he could arm the slaves. The sick mad man also killed a bunch of innocent people at harpers ferry. Therefore, in conclusin, I think John Brown was one of the worst criminals ever!

John Brown wasn't a criminal. He wasn't because he fought for what he believed. What others were doing was nothing, even though most thought slavery was wrong. Although some people think john is a criminal he only did the things he did to free slaves. He helped more than hurt to the thousands of slaves. He also didn't kill innocent people. He killed people who had slaves which was VERY wrong or at least should have been. John brown fought for the lives of people like many other should have. But he died. I wouldn't consider him my hero but he isn't a criminal either. Harpers ferry was also not very good for some but it wasn't horrible.

John Brown's actions at Harpers Ferry were bad. I disagree with his actions. He did treason and murder. I think that is not good. He tried to help the slaves though, but he didn't help them in a good way. He could have tried to do it in a better way. I disagree with his actions.

I think John Browns's actions at Harpers Ferry made him a hero. I agree with his actions and think he did what he had to do to free the slaves. There would be no other way to free them. The U.S. government would not help so he had to take matters into his own hands. He did what he could do to uphold what we now hold true. He knew what he had to do. He had to free the slaves at all cost. He knew that he might die fighting for a cause that he believed in. I beleive he was a martyr in that he died for a ritchous cause. We all sould learn that we need to help others at all cost. I would take a bullet for him. To answer your question, yes, I think he was right and I would support him all the way. There is no way we can call him a crimanal. He may have done this a little unorthodx but he broke only the law of partiotisim. He bevieved so much in his country he gave his life to presurve it. We should honor him not call him a crimanal, but in my opinion he was a HERO.

In my own opinion i say that John Brown was a hero. First, I think John Brown was a hero because he did what he knew he should do. John Brown knew he should free the slaves so thats what he was trying to do. Second, John Brown showed how much he cared for the slaves. Brown lost his life trying to save others. Last, John was a man who thought he was always right nomatter what was happening. He thought it was right to arm the slaves but in many ways it was and wasn't. That's why in my opinion i think John Brown was a hero.

I feel in my own opinion that john brown is a criminal. First of all he killed many of our men and women. Secondly, he damaged most of our land that we worked and farmed and everything. Finally he was trying to free the slaves but we use the slaves for our work and everything and he deserved to get the death sentence.
